Baghdad: The Communications and Media Commission announced a judicial decision from the Rusafa Court of First Instance, which nullified the injunction filed by the Managing Director of Korek Telecom. This decision, dated August 24, 2026, supports the Commission’s prior action to suspend operations with Korek Telecom.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ruling was based on a grievance submitted by Baligh Abu Kalal, the Head of the Executive Authority of the Communications and Media Commission, against the Managing Director of Korek Telecom. The Commission expressed its respect for the judiciary and the decisions made by competent courts. It emphasized its commitment to legal and judicial procedures concerning the Korek Telecom case, focusing on safeguarding the rights of the state, the public interest, and users’ rights under current laws and regulations.
