Diyala: Diyala University has formalized a memorandum of understanding with the Border Forces Command, focusing on joint scientific, academic, and technical cooperation. During the signing, University President Tahseen Hussein Mubarak highlighted the importance of collaboration with state institutions, especially security agencies, to enhance institutional and field performance by leveraging the university’s academic and technical expertise.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mubarak stated that the university views cooperation with security institutions as both a national and scientific responsibility. This partnership aims to translate knowledge and research into practical solutions that aid state institutions, focusing on areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and specialized training. He emphasized that the memorandum serves as a framework for cooperation in training, software development, and the transition to electronic systems, while also utilizing student projects to address technical challenges.
The delegation from the Border Forces Command expressed their eagerness to establish effective partnerships with Iraqi universities, including Diyala University, in fields like cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and medicine. They are interested in joint workshops and providing researchers with opportunities to gain practical experience. The Command is prepared to offer necessary facilities to ensure successful collaboration.
Ali Abdul Hussein, Director of Media at Diyala University, informed a correspondent from the Iraqi National News Agency (NINA) that the memorandum encompasses various scientific, cultural, administrative, and logistical aspects. These include the exchange of resources, summer training, seminars, e-learning cooperation, and scientific conferences. The agreement also covers management and professional development, training workshops, and the use of graduation projects to tackle security-related challenges.
Both parties have committed to strengthening communication between the Border Guard Command and Diyala University’s colleges, aiming to expand research and training cooperation. This collaboration is expected to lead to joint scientific and applied projects that address the security establishment’s needs.
