Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, received former Speaker of Parliament, Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, today, Thursday. A statement by the Speaker’s office indicated that: ‘At the beginning of the meeting, al-Mashhadani congratulated Haibat al-Halbousi on his election as Speaker of Parliament for its sixth session.’

According to National Iraqi News Agency, both sides emphasized the importance of enacting a number of important laws that affect citizens’ lives, and the importance of activating the oversight role of Parliament in the coming period.
