Customs Evasion Foiled at Trebil Border Crossing Involving Money Counting Machines

Trebil: A customs evasion attempt was thwarted at the Trebil border crossing, involving a shipment of “money counting” machines. The Border Ports Authority made the announcement on Monday, highlighting their successful intervention.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Border Ports Authority revealed that the Trebil border crossing directorate had seized a vehicle loaded with money counting machines. The shipment’s description and the approved customs classification were reportedly falsified in an attempt to evade customs duties.

The Authority’s statement detailed that the seizure occurred at the search and investigation point outside the customs area. This operation was conducted under the direct supervision of the Authority’s Chairman, Lieutenant General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli. A formal seizure report was prepared, and the vehicle, along with the investigative documents, was referred to the Trebil Customs Police Station for the necessary legal actions against the violators.
