Damascus: The border area between Lebanon and Syria has witnessed a dangerous security escalation as Syrian army personnel and media correspondents came under a missile attack, injuring one journalist. Video clips released by unofficial Syrian media channels show bloody nighttime clashes and the deployment of Syrian army personnel along the border. Additionally, a Syrian army “Shaheen” drone was seen monitoring the tense situation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Western media confirmed the clashes and missile firings along the border area. Reports indicate that the Lebanese army launched reconnaissance drones over the airspace of Hermel, a city in eastern Lebanon, in response to the security developments. The situation has led to an exchange of accusations between Damascus and Hezbollah, further complicating the already tense relations in the region.
