Death of Egyptian Artist Abdel Jawad Metwally at 87


Cairo: Egyptian artist Abdel Jawad Metwally passed away today, Sunday, at the age of 87, after a long battle with illness.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Abdel Jawad Metwally was born in 1939 and developed a love for art from a young age. However, he did not initially work in the field of art, as he was engaged in various other jobs until an opportunity in the arts came after many years of searching.



Metwally participated in numerous television productions throughout his career. Among his notable works were the series “Saber Ya Am Saber” with artist Farid Shawqi, produced in 1984, and the series “Burj Al-Akaber” in 1987. He also appeared in “Souq Al-Asr” in 2001 alongside Ahmed Abdel Aziz and Mahmoud Yassin, and “Al-Amma Nour” in 2003 with Nabila Ebeid and Ahmed El-Fishawy.
