Kuala Lumpur: The death of former Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was announced today, Monday, in Kuala Lumpur, at the age of 85. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi served as Prime Minister of Malaysia from October 2003 to April 2009, succeeding former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi held various positions throughout his political career. He began as Undersecretary Minister of the Federal Territories in 1980 before becoming Minister of Education in 1984. His tenure as Minister of Defense spanned from 1986 to 1987, and he later served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1991 to 1999. In 1999, he took on the roles of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior.
