Baghdad: Deputy Minister of Oil for Extraction Affairs Naseer Aziz Jabbar discussed with officials from Angolan investor Sonangol Company on Wednesday plans to develop the Qayara Oil Field and increase its production.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the office of the Deputy Minister for Extraction Affairs stated that Deputy Minister of Oil for Extraction Affairs Naseer Aziz Jabbar received officials from Angolan Sonangol Company, the investor in the Qayara Oil Field in Nineveh Governorate. The acting Director General of the North Oil Company, along with a number of officials from the relevant authorities, also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, according to the statement, plans to develop the field and increase crude oil production rates were discussed, in addition to options for transporting, marketing, and exporting the produced oil. The meeting also addressed plans to implement the Qayara Integrated Refinery Project and its importance in utilizing the field’s production, enhancing refining capacity, and ensuring the availability of petroleum products, in a manner that supports the Ministry’s plans to develop the oil sector in Nineveh Governorate.
