Dhi Qar Criminal Court: Six-Year Prison Sentence for a Man Convicted of Practicing Witchcraft and Sorcery

Baghdad: The Dhi Qar Criminal Court has issued a six-year prison sentence against a man found guilty of practicing witchcraft and sorcery. The conviction also involved charges of luring women with the intent of blackmailing them.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the sentence was handed down in accordance with Article 6/Second/Seventh of the Anti-Human Trafficking Law No. 28 of 2012. This legal provision addresses offenses related to human trafficking and associated criminal activities. The Supreme Judicial Council released a statement confirming the details of the conviction and sentencing.
