Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced the dismantling of a movement called “Free Iraqis for Liberation and Change,” led by “Abu Sadiq.” This operation was carried out by the Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency, specifically the Baghdad/Rusafa Intelligence division.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior’s Department of Public Relations and Media released a video clip featuring a masked individual claiming affiliation with the group described as the “Free Iraqi Movement,” which is linked to the Iraqi National Rally for Liberation and Change. The video also featured a voiceover from an unseen speaker, who mentioned the movement’s leadership under Abu Sadiq while moving around in a car.
The Ministry stated that, following surveillance of this group, a specialized task force was quickly assembled. This task force operated under judicial approvals to monitor the group’s activities closely. As a result of these efforts, several members of the so-called Free Iraqi Movemen
t were apprehended. These individuals were involved in recruiting young people by promoting the movement’s ideas and ideologies.
