Diwaniyah Environment Department Warns Against Overfishing to Protect Fish Stocks

Diwaniyah: The Qadisiyah Environment Directorate has issued a warning concerning illegal fishing activities in various water bodies including rivers, lakes, and marshes. This warning is aimed at preserving fish populations and ensuring environmental protection.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Diwaniyah Environment Director Mukhlid Hakim emphasized that the directorate's technical staff are actively engaged in monitoring and tracking illegal fishing activities. These efforts are being carried out across all districts and sub-districts of the governorate, focusing on rivers, lakes, drainage canals, and marshes. The initiative seeks to curb the illegal practices that threaten fish stocks and contribute to environmental pollution.
