Diyala: The Diyala Health Department revealed the death toll from traffic accidents during Eid al-Adha. The Director of Media at the Diyala Health Department, Faris al-Azzawi, told a correspondent for the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the rate of traffic accidents during the Eid holiday increased significantly on main roads, with the forensic medicine department receiving 4 deaths. Emergency rooms in government hospitals also received 45 injuries, including 9 critical cases.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, medical and health teams in hospitals were mobilized and performed several surgeries to save the injured. Faris al-Azzawi pointed out that excessive speed, improper overtaking, and using the mobile phone while driving are the main reasons behind the rising accident rates in the province.
