Baghdad: The Diyala police chief has taken crucial steps to ensure the safety of visitors during the upcoming Arba’een pilgrimage. Major General Muhammad Kadhim Atiya, the police chief, emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination between security agencies and supporting bodies during his recent visit to the Mandali border crossing.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Major General Atiya’s visit aimed to review the organizational and security procedures in place for securing the movement of pilgrims through the Mandali border crossing. This visit is part of a broader preparation strategy for the Arba’een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), a significant event drawing large numbers of pilgrims.

The police command, in a press release, highlighted that during the visit, Major General Atiya assessed the mechanisms for receiving pilgrims, the flow of entry, and the measures implemented to ensure security and provide necessary services. He directed an enhanced coordination effort between security agencies and supporting entities, underscoring the need for seamless pilgrim movement and overall safety during this significant religious event.
