Diyala Sports Club Clinches Top Honors in Iraqi National Powerlifting Championship

Diyala: The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Diyala University has emerged victorious by securing first place in the Iraqi National Powerlifting Championship. This competition is part of a training regimen designed to prepare athletes for the upcoming Asian Championship, which is set to be held in Turkey.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Marwa Khalid Jihad, Director of Media at the College of Physical Education, shared that student Mustafa Karim Ismail achieved first place in the 53 kg weight category for youth. His performance was noted for its high level of physical readiness. Additionally, student Naktal Saddam Majeed triumphed in the 66 kg weight category for seniors, further showcasing the exceptional performance of the college's students across various age categories.

Nibras Ali Latif, Vice President of the Iraqi Central Powerlifting Federation, commended the high skill level exhibited by the students of the college. He remarked, "This achievement is the result of meticulous scientific monitoring and specialized training programs." Latif highlighted that these accomplishments not only demonstrate the players' preparedness to compete but also provide a morale boost for the national team as they head towards the Asian Championships.
