Aomori: An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale was recorded in northern Japan. The earthquake struck between Aomori and Hokkaido prefectures in northern Japan in the central Pacific Ocean on Saturday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Japan Meteorological Agency announced that the epicenter was at a depth of 80 kilometers and no tsunami warning was issued. The tremor registered a maximum intensity of 4 on the Japanese scale, placing it in the moderate category. It added that no casualties or damage have been reported, and authorities are continuing to closely monitor the situation.
