Basra: Hundreds of educators demonstrated in Basra on Tuesday, demanding an improvement in the conditions of educational and teaching staff. They gathered in front of the Basra Education Directorate building to voice their concerns and push for significant changes.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the educators’ demands include amending the salary scale, activating the Teacher Protection Law, distributing land plots to teachers, converting temporary contracts to permanent contracts, and ensuring justice for teachers who contribute to building society. The demonstration highlighted the educators’ call for systemic reforms to enhance their professional and economic status.
