Cairo: Egypt and Saudi Arabia have reached a consensus to oppose any efforts that may disrupt international waterways. During a recent discussion, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, focused on regional and international efforts to reduce tensions, stressing the immediate need to halt all military activities in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry released a statement highlighting the ministers’ call, which underscored the priority of political and diplomatic solutions. The statement emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination and consultation among Arab nations to support regional security and stability.

The ministry further noted that both parties agreed on the critical need to uphold the freedom of navigation per international law. This includes ensuring the safety and security of international navigation and rejecting any attempts to impede passage through international waterways.
