Ankara: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty will pay an official visit to the Turkish capital, Ankara, tomorrow, Wednesday. Sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that Minister Hakan Fidan will receive his Egyptian counterpart in Ankara before they co-chair the “First Meeting of the Turkish-Egyptian Joint Planning Group.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, officials from relevant institutions in both countries will participate in the meeting, where preparations for the second meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Turkey and Egypt, scheduled to be held in Cairo under the chairmanship of the two countries’ leaders, will be discussed.

The Turkish-Egyptian Joint Planning Group was established within the framework of the joint statement signed on February 14, 2024, regarding the establishment of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the two countries. The Joint Planning Group, which holds its meetings under the chairmanship of the two countries’ foreign ministers, is responsible for preparing for the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meetings and enhancing coordination in areas of cooperation between the two countries.

According to sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Fidan is scheduled to discuss with his Egyptian counterpart the agreements still under negotiation between Ankara and Cairo, as well as bilateral relations in all their political, economic, trade, and military dimensions.
