Mosul: Defense Minister Thabit al-Abbasi announced that security forces have been monitoring the electoral process in Nineveh Governorate since the early hours of this morning and are working in full coordination to ensure a safe and smooth election environment.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Abbasi stated, “Since early morning, joint forces have been monitoring the electoral process at all polling stations. Everyone is committed to performing their duties with utmost professionalism, and we in the Ministry of Defense and the Joint Operations Command affirm that our primary duty is to secure these elections and ensure active participation in them.”
Al-Abbasi further commented on the strong and effective participation of Nineveh Governorate in the electoral process, signifying the determination of the people of Mosul. He noted that this participation sends a clear message that the city’s residents are committed to the path of reconstruction and progress, and are resolved to confront any attempts to destabilize them.
He also highlighted that the security plan to secure the polling centers was implemented meticulously and under direct supervision of security leaders.
Al-Abbasi concluded by sending a message of unity and resolve from Mosul, emphasizing that the residents will not allow destructive forces to return. He stressed that the elections are an important opportunity for citizens to demonstrate their ability to make decisions and actively participate in building their future.
