Baghdad: The Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, affirmed the judiciary’s role in protecting the democratic system in Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Zaidan expressed gratitude towards the members of the Supreme Judicial Council, judges, and members of the Public Prosecution for their contributions to the successful parliamentary elections. In his statement, Zaidan said, “I extend my thanks and appreciation to you all for your efforts in overseeing the success of the electoral process, in a way that strengthened the judiciary’s role in protecting the democratic system in Iraq.”
