Mecca: The General Directorate of Hajj and Umrah in the Kurdistan Region announced today, Monday, the death of a Kurdish pilgrim while performing Umrah rituals in the city of Mecca. The Directorate stated that Ali Qasso Samu, born in 1949, passed away in the holy city, and arrangements have been made for his burial there.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate further noted that this marks the eighth death of a pilgrim from the Kurdistan Region in Saudi Arabia this year.
