ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan engaged in discussions with Emirati counterpart Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan concerning bilateral relations and key developments in Syria and Palestine. The leaders also addressed broader regional and international issues during their phone conversation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan emphasized the importance of maintaining unity in Syria by fostering a state where various ethnic and religious groups coexist peacefully. He expressed Turkey’s stance against recognizing the “PKK / YPG,” active in Syria, as representatives of the Kurdish population in the region.

Erdogan further highlighted the necessity of preventing “ISIS” from capitalizing on the instability in the region and cautioned against Israel exploiting the situation to disrupt the ongoing developments in Syria. The dialogue between the two leaders underscores the ongoing diplomatic efforts to address complex regional challenges.
