Erdogan Arrives in Egypt to Participate in Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit


Sharm el-sheikh: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh on Monday afternoon to participate in the international peace summit hosted by the city today, aiming to end the war in the Gaza Strip.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan is accompanied on his visit by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin, Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, and Chief Advisor to the President for Security and Foreign Affairs Akif €š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬¦¡¬¡agatay Kili§.



The Sharm El-Sheikh summit aims to “end the war in the Gaza Strip, strengthen efforts to establish peace and stability in the Middle East, and open a new page of regional security and stability.” It follows the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel that went into effect last Friday afternoon.



The Turkish President is expected to deliver a speech at the summit and meet with leaders of several participating countries.



Earlier on Monday, leaders and officials began arriving at the international summit venue in Sharm el-Sheikh, with the aim of ending the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, according to Cairo News Channel.
