Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly criticized Israel’s actions in Gaza, stating that the “massacres can never be forgotten” and that the events involving children are indelible landmarks in history.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan shared these remarks with reporters on board the presidential plane after attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in China. He emphasized that the international community, particularly fair-minded parents, will remember the atrocities committed against children and families in Palestine. Erdogan also addressed Washington’s recent decision to ban visas for Palestinian officials, urging the United Nations to reconsider the move, which he believes contradicts the organization’s core principles.

Erdogan called on the United States to oppose Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip, predicting that the Palestinian issue would be a focal point at the upcoming UN General Assembly. He noted that some European countries are preparing to recognize the State of Palestine, highlighting the role of the UN Security Council in addressing global challenges and finding solutions. Erdogan criticized the absence of the Palestinian delegation from the UN General Assembly, stating it only serves Israel’s interests.

On the topic of Syria, Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s commitment to supporting the country, expressing solidarity with the Kurdish population and warning against attempts to create instability. He assured that Turkey would not tolerate actions aimed at creating chaos in Syria and that Damascus shares this stance.

Addressing the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Erdogan highlighted Turkey’s role in facilitating communication between the two nations and fostering trust. He emphasized the importance of negotiations, pointing to the Istanbul talks as evidence of a viable path to peace. Erdogan stressed that a just and lasting resolution requires inclusive negotiations that do not exclude any parties.
