Baghdad: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reiterated Turkey's unwavering support for the Palestinian people, emphasizing that the nation will not give in to pressure from Zionist lobbies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan made this declaration during a press statement following a government meeting in Ankara. He stated, "We do not submit to the pressure of the global Zionist lobbies or to the smear campaigns carried out by their agents. Rather, we stand firmly with the Palestinian people who are defending their land, freedom, and dignity."

Erdogan highlighted the prominence of the Palestinian issue at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, despite Israel's attempts to block discussions. He underscored the significance of Britain and France recognizing the State of Palestine, despite delays, and expressed satisfaction with the growing number of countries acknowledging Palestine, which now stands at 158.

The Turkish President also remarked on the consensus among nations regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He noted that Netanyahu, currently facing corruption investigations, is perceived as a destabilizing force in the region and globally. Erdogan observed that apart from a few exceptions, most countries are reluctant to associate with Netanyahu's government.

In his discussions with US President Donald Trump, Erdogan conveyed optimism that positive outcomes would emerge from their meeting in the near future.
