Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued a stern warning that any entity obstructing Syria’s journey towards lasting peace and stability will face opposition from both Ankara and the Damascus government. This declaration was made during a press conference held after a Turkish government meeting in the capital city.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan emphasized Turkey’s commitment to justice, peace, and diplomacy amid increasing regional tensions and emerging crises. He asserted that a return to the pre-Assad era in Syria is improbable, marking the beginning of a “new era” in the country.

Erdogan stated that Turkey will not allow Syria to be divided by any terrorist corridors, specifically referencing the PKK/YPG in northern Syria. He urged certain parties to value their friendship with Turkey, urging them to adjust their rhetoric and policies and to act as a state.

He highlighted that stability and peace in Syria would benefit the entire region, with every development in the Middle East directly impacting Turkey’s economy and security. Erdogan noted that Turkey is actively working to ensure positive regional changes and cautioned against interpreting Turkey’s calm stance as a sign of weakness.

Erdogan also mentioned Turkey’s growing influence in a multipolar world and its aspiration to secure a rightful place in the global order. Additionally, he reaffirmed Ankara’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people in Gaza, emphasizing Turkey’s commitment to ensuring their safety, peace, and freedom.
