Brussels: The European Union has issued a call for Israel to lift the blockade on the Gaza Strip to facilitate the distribution of humanitarian aid. Anwar al-Anoni, spokesman for the European Commission, expressed the EU's concerns during a press conference.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Anoni highlighted the EU's apprehension regarding the ongoing expansion of the conflict in Gaza, warning that it could lead to additional loss of life and increased suffering for the Palestinian population. He urged an end to the hostilities and called for Israel to reconsider its plans to escalate aggression in the region.
The European Union emphasized the need for immediate access to humanitarian aid, the restoration of electricity, and the reestablishment of basic services in Gaza. The EU's appeal aims to alleviate the humanitarian crisis and provide relief to the affected civilians.
