Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, has issued a directive for the relevant parliamentary committees to closely follow up on the retirees’ file and make amendments to the retirement law to ensure fairness for retirees.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from Faihan’s media office revealed that he met with representatives of retirees at his guesthouse on Monday evening. The meeting focused on discussing the retirees’ circumstances and addressing their most pressing demands and needs. The aim was to safeguard the rights of this vital segment of society and to ensure they enjoy a dignified standard of living.

Faihan emphasized that the House of Representatives is actively working on making necessary amendments to the retirement law. The goal is to develop legislative solutions that contribute to ensuring fairness and protecting the rights of retirees. Additionally, Faihan mentioned plans to host government agencies and relevant institutions to gather their views and proposals on matters related to retirees.
