Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan, has called for stringent measures against individuals who attack security forces. Faihan’s statement comes in the wake of the recent martyrdom of two security force members, including the director of the Al-Amana Police Department in the Karkh district and an accompanying officer. The incident occurred while they were escorting service detachments tasked with removing encroachments near the Al-Dora area, south of Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Faihan has urged the Prime Minister, the Integrity Commission, and the Public Prosecutor to take immediate and decisive actions against those involved in converting agricultural lands into slums and unregulated residential areas. He emphasized that the blood of the martyrs should mark the beginning of holding accountable those responsible for these encroachments.

Faihan highlighted that such attacks on security forces represent a direct assault on the state and its rule of law. He stated that these actions are unacceptable and emphasized the necessity of firm measures against anyone attacking security agencies or obstructing law implementation. Faihan underscored the importance of protecting state institutions and personnel, preserving their prestige, strengthening the rule of law, and consolidating security and stability.
