Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi and National Investment Commission (NIC) Chairman Adel Al-Yasiri emphasized the significance of reviewing and assessing investment contracts and projects.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the deputy parliament speaker reported that Fayhan hosted Al-Yasiri at his residence on Sunday evening. He congratulated Al-Yasiri on his appointment as NIC chairman and expressed hopes for his success in enhancing the investment sector and its role in boosting the national economy.
The discussion focused on the investment environment in the country and strategies for its development to attract high-quality investments and achieve sustainable growth. The importance of regularly reviewing and evaluating investment contracts and projects, especially those that are delayed, was highlighted to address delays, protect public funds, and ensure effective management of investment opportunities.
Fayhan reiterated parliament’s support for the Investment Authority’s efforts and its commitment to legislation that would empower the authority to perform its functions effectively. He also stressed the need to create a stable and appealing investment environment, attract reputable companies, enhance investor confidence, and facilitate their activities.
