Baghdad: The first deputy speaker of Iraq’s parliament, Adnan Fayhan al-Dulaimi, on Sunday extended his congratulations to the Iraqi people on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the modern Iraqi state, renewing his commitment to strengthening state institutions and protecting national decision-making.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the first deputy speaker stated that Fayhan conveyed his ‘highest congratulations’ to the Iraqi people on the occasion. He recalled the sacrifices made by Iraqis to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and unity and to build its institutions.

Fayhan emphasized that the anniversary renewed the resolve to strengthen a state based on institutions and the rule of law. He highlighted the importance of protecting national decision-making and investing Iraq’s resources and capabilities to achieve development, stability, and prosperity, as mentioned in the statement.

He also underscored parliament’s responsibility to support state-building through legislation and oversight. Fayhan stressed that the next phase required unified efforts and prioritizing the national interest to build a strong, stable, and prosperous Iraq.

Fayhan expressed his wishes for a future marked by security, stability, and prosperity for the Iraqi people. He prayed for the protection of Iraq and its people and for the preservation of the country’s strength, unity, and sovereignty.
