Federal Police Arrest Three Suspects for Sabotaging Electricity Towers in Baghdad


BAGHDAD: In a significant operation, the Federal Police Command forces apprehended three individuals involved in sabotage activities targeting electricity transmission towers in the capital city.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrests were made by a unit from the Second Brigade, First Division, in the Jurf al-Naddaf area, also known as “Al-Buthaila.” The suspects were caught dismantling some iron parts from the towers. The operation was highlighted as a notable security achievement by the Command, which managed to capture the suspects in the act and subsequently handed them over to the relevant authorities for further legal proceedings.

The Federal Police statement emphasized the importance of protecting critical infrastructure, which is vital for the city’s stability and security. The swift action of the police forces in arresting the suspects red-handed underscores their commitment to maintaining order and ensuring that such destructive activities are curtailed.
