Fenerbahce Secures First Win of the Season with 4-2 Triumph Over Konyaspor


Istanbul: Fenerbah§e regained their footing in the Turkish Super Lig, securing their first victory of the season with a 4-2 win over Konyaspor on Saturday evening at the €¡ubani Stadium, in the second round of matches. Fenerbah§e earned their first three points of the season, making up for their surprising 1-2 defeat to Gen§lerbirligi in the opening round.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Fenerbah§e started the match strongly, opening the scoring early in the seventh minute through Kosovar striker Vedat Muriqi, who pounced on a rebound from the Konyaspor goalkeeper, easily slotting the ball into the net from close range. Konyaspor equalized in the 11th minute through Gambian striker Ebrima Colley, who broke free after a through ball from Congolese forward Yehwan Ndzwana.



However, the home side regained the lead in the 20th minute through Englishman Mason Greenwood, who followed up on his own penalty, which was initially saved by the Konyaspor goalkeeper, to put the ball into the net. Spaniard Marco Asensio extended Fenerbahce’s lead to 3-1 in the 33rd minute, unleashing a powerful left-footed shot from a tight angle after a decisive pass from Greenwood. The first half ended with the home side leading 3-1.



In the second half, Fenerbahce continued their dominance, and Greenwood scored his second and his team’s fourth goal in the 51st minute with a right-footed shot from inside the penalty area, capitalizing on a pinpoint pass from Muriqui. Konyaspor narrowed the gap by scoring their second goal in the 94th minute through Deniz Tur§, but Fenerbah§e secured a 4-2 victory and their first win in the league.
