Accra:Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan to discuss regional security issues.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministers focused on threats to Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity during their discussion.
The call took place in the context of ongoing military tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni Houthi group, a conflict that has been intensifying since last July. The escalation has seen attacks on civil aviation facilities and energy infrastructure within Saudi Arabia. Recently, assaults have targeted King Khalid Airport in Riyadh and airports in Abha, Jazan, Najran, and Dammam, as well as oil facilities and military sites, as reported by Saudi authorities and the Houthis.
