Fidan Urges Blinken to Support Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza


ISTANBUL: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan urged U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to support an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the region and calling for Israel to halt its attacks on Lebanon.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, sources within the Turkish Foreign Ministry disclosed that Fidan conveyed his concerns during a phone conversation with Blinken. During the call, Fidan highlighted the catastrophic humanitarian situation in northern Gaza and underscored the urgent need for uninterrupted humanitarian aid deliveries to the area.

Fidan stressed the importance of all parties exercising restraint to prevent the escalation of conflict throughout the region. He reiterated the necessity of declaring a ceasefire in Gaza promptly and called for an end to Israeli attacks on Lebanon. The conversation between the ministers also included an evaluation of the latest developments in Lebanon.
