Baghdad:The Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency (FIIA) announced the seizure of 2,163 cartons of non-compliant cosmetics in the city.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the agency revealed that this discovery was made through intelligence efforts and close monitoring. The Organized Crime Directorate/Rusafa unmasked a fictitious warehouse inside a suspect’s home, containing a variety of cosmetics. Among these, 900 cartons lacked production or expiry dates and failed to meet official approval standards.

The operation was conducted under a judicial arrest warrant against the suspect, identified as T. J. M., in accordance with Article 35 concerning the counterfeiting of trademarks. Preliminary investigations indicated that the cosmetics were manufactured in factories outside Iraq and were falsely labeled with misleading commercial information.

The agency has urged citizens to be cautious when purchasing or using cosmetics, advising them to verify the source and accuracy of product information and to avoid buying from untrusted websites and entities to ensure their safety.
