Fire Extinguished at Al-Fayhaa Teaching Hospital Medicine Warehouse in Basra


Basra: A fire that erupted in a medicine warehouse at Al-Fayhaa Teaching Hospital in the center of Basra was successfully extinguished without any casualties, thanks to the swift action of the Civil Defense teams.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Basra Civil Defense Directorate reported that 25 specialized firefighting teams, along with other support units, managed to bring the fire under complete control. The incident required the deployment of modern specialized vehicles, support vehicles, and fire trucks, all under the direct field supervision of Brigadier General Mazen Mohammed Lafteh, Director of Basra Civil Defense.



The teams worked from several directions to combat and extinguish the fire, preventing its spread. Their rapid response ensured there were no injuries, minimized material damage, and fully secured the site. In addition, official measures have been taken, including a request for a formal investigation at the local police station to determine the circumstances of the incident. A forensic expert has been summoned to collect samples and verify the technical causes of the fire’s outbreak.
