Baghdad: Six premature babies were rescued after a fire broke out inside Al-Nu’man Hospital in Al-Adhamiya. The Ministry of Interior announced on Friday the rescue of six premature babies after a fire broke out inside Al-Nu’man Hospital in the Adhamiya district.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Major General Miqdad Miri, head of the Ministry of Interior’s Media and Public Relations Department, stated in a press release: “Civil Defense teams were able to rescue six babies from the premature ward and extinguish a fire that broke out inside Al-Nu’man Hospital in the Adhamiya district of Baghdad, without any casualties.”

He added, “Specialized teams were able to completely control the incident, which was caused by a fire in an internal air conditioning unit in the premature ward. Upon receiving the report, they immediately initiated a swift and safe evacuation of the babies to ensure their safety and dealt with the fire, extinguishing it completely in record time without any injuries.”
