First Amendment to Badra Oil Field Service Contract Signed by Middle Oil Company and Gazprom


Baghdad: The Middle Oil Company has signed the first amendment to the service contract for the Badra oil field with the Russian company Gazprom and its affiliated entities. This significant development took place on Thursday.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the signing ceremony was attended by several notable figures including Bassem Mohammed Khudair, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Extraction Affairs, and Elbrus Kotrashev, the Russian Ambassador to Baghdad. Other attendees included the Director General of Dhi Qar Oil Company, the Director General of the Petroleum Contracts and Licensing Department, the Director General of the Reservoirs and Field Development Department, and the Deputy Director General of the Technical Department.



The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil emphasized the ministry’s commitment to sustaining production operations in the oil fields and supporting foreign oil companies operating therein. Meanwhile, Mohammed Yassin, the Director General of the Middle Oil Company, expressed the company’s collaborative efforts with the contractor to boost production rates in the field during the remaining term of the contract to maximize state resources.



The first amendment to the service contract focuses on clauses related to gas production and projected financial revenues for the project’s remainder.
