Riyadh: The Music Commission held its first graduation ceremony for students of the House of Oud in Riyadh at the Riyadh Literary Club. Founded and sponsored by Iraqi musician Dr. Naseer Shamma, the House of Oud celebrated the completion of their educational journey, reflecting the Commission’s efforts to develop music education and empower national talent.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the graduates presented a series of musical performances showcasing the artistic skills they acquired during their studies, embodying the Commission’s commitment to providing opportunities for music education for all, empowering practitioners, building a sustainable music ecosystem, and offering career paths that contribute to the growth of the music sector in the Kingdom.

The House of Oud is a specialized center for teaching musical instruments, established in September 2023 by the Music Commission, under the leadership of musician Naseer Shamma. It is part of a network of branches across several Arab countries and aims to discover and refine talent through educational and training programs that combine theoretical study with practical application, supervised by a select group of musicians and specialists.

Its founder, Naseer Shamma, affirmed that the first graduation ceremony of the House of Oud in Riyadh represents a significant milestone in realizing the Authority’s strategic vision aimed at expanding access to music education, discovering national talents, and developing their capabilities. He added that qualifying the graduates and empowering them to transfer their knowledge and experience will contribute to broadening the impact of these initiatives, strengthening the music education system, and supporting the growth of the music sector in the Kingdom.
