Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, emphasized the importance of joint action to contain the escalation. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that Hussein received a phone call today, Monday, from Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, during which they exchanged views on developments in the region and the repercussions of the current escalation. Both sides condemned the attacks targeting Iraq and Qatar, stressing the need to immediately halt these attacks.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, they emphasized the importance of preventing the region from being drawn into this war and working together to contain the escalation and create the appropriate conditions for its cessation, thus contributing to strengthening regional security and stability.

The statement noted that both sides agreed to maintain communication and coordination during the next phase, in support of efforts aimed at ending the crisis and preventing the escalation of clashes.
