Foreign Minister Meets His Egyptian Counterpart in Cairo to Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations


Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, met today, Sunday, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, at the headquarters of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the New Administrative Capital, on the sidelines of his visit to Cairo to participate in the ministerial meeting of the Council of the Arab League.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the two sides discussed ways to develop bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and enhance cooperation in various fields, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of common interest.



During the meeting, the Minister stressed the importance of joint cooperation to confront the challenges facing the region, stressing the steadfast position of the Republic of Iraq in supporting the Palestinian brothers to obtain their legitimate rights, establish their independent state, and reject their displacement from their lands.



The meeting also discussed the ongoing preparations for holding the emergency Arab summit in Cairo on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, which will discuss in particular the developments of the Palestinian issue.
