Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein received copies of credentials of a number of non-resident Ambassadors accredited to Iraq, during an official ceremony held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Baghdad.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a statement that the list of Ambassadors included Alber Hosa, non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Iraq; Sevag Avedissian, non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Iraq, and Alfred Mutwazuka, non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Iraq.
The Minister welcomed the new Ambassadors, stressing Iraq’s keenness to strengthen its bilateral relations with their countries in various fields, in a way that serves common interests and supports frameworks for diplomatic and economic cooperation. He also stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on regional and international issues of common interest.
For their part, the Ambassadors affirmed their commitment to work on developing relations between Iraq and their countries, by enhancing cooperation in the political, economic, and cultural fields, in a way that opens new horizons for partnership and mutual understanding.
This meeting comes within the framework of Iraq’s efforts to enhance its diplomatic presence and consolidate its relations with friendly and brotherly countries, in a way that contributes to achieving security, stability, and development at the regional and international levels.
