BAGHDAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein of Iraq and Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani underscored the critical importance of stability and security for both nations during a recent phone conversation. The dialogue reflects a mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in light of shared regional challenges.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the communication occurred after Fuad Hussein extended congratulations to Al-Shaibani on his new role as Syrian Foreign Minister. Hussein commended Al-Shaibani for his supportive stance towards the Iraqi diplomatic mission in Damascus and expressed Iraq’s desire to fully reinstate its embassy staff to resume regular operations. The Syrian Foreign Minister echoed this sentiment, emphasizing his commitment to the Iraqi diplomatic presence.
