Basra: The Border Ports Authority announced the arrest of a foreign traveler attempting to smuggle more than two kilograms of gold through the Shalamcheh border crossing.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated in a statement that the Shalamcheh border crossing detachments were able to arrest a foreign traveler in possession of more than two kilograms of gold, intended for smuggling outside the country. The arrest was carried out in cooperation with the Intelligence Service and supporting departments at the crossing.
