Babil: The General Directorate of Water at the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities announced on Saturday that 90% of the civil works for the Al-Kifl water project in Babil Governorate have been completed.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ammar Adel Hussein, Director General of the General Directorate of Water, inspected the nighttime work on the Al-Kifl water project, confirming the significant progress. His visit to Babil Governorate included the presence of the Director of Babil Water, Aqeel Tarad Radhi, to oversee projects linked to the needs of millions of pilgrims. The Al-Kifl project is set to operate at a design capacity of 4,000 cubic meters per hour, aiming to serve the Al-Kifl district and its surrounding villages, benefiting a population of 150,000.

During discussions with the resident engineer and the project’s implementing company, the Director underscored the importance of accelerating efforts to meet the project’s deadline. He highlighted the Al-Kifl water project as a critical strategic initiative within Babil Governorate. The project has completed 20 km out of the planned 60 km of transmission lines, adhering to the latest international technical standards.
