Governor of Karbala Engages with Team to Advance Anti-Corruption Strategy


Karbala: The Governor of the Holy City of Karbala, Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, engaged in a meeting with the specialized team responsible for overseeing the implementation of the National Strategy for Integrity and Combating Corruption.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the team praised the standards and procedures that have been put in place in Karbala to promote transparency in administrative and financial operations. They highlighted the city’s commitment to merit-based and integrity-driven criteria when choosing directors and leadership personnel, which has helped establish professional management and elevate integrity and transparency within the governorate’s institutions.



Governor Al-Khattabi emphasized the importance of ongoing directives aimed at simplifying procedures for citizens and developing administrative and financial mechanisms. These efforts have played a significant role in boosting transparency and reducing administrative complexities. He underscored the need for continuous review of procedures to ensure they remain clear and are completed swiftly within established legal and administrative frameworks.



Furthermore, the Governor has instructed the formation of subcommittees within departments to monitor adherence to transparency and integrity standards. These subcommittees are tasked with identifying and resolving obstacles to improve performance efficiency and uphold the highest standards of administrative and legal work in the governorate’s departments.
