Mosul: Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil of Nineveh has directed the immediate commencement of restoration and rehabilitation efforts at the historic Hammam al-Alil thermal baths to revive its role as a significant tourist and therapeutic site. This directive was issued during the governor’s visit to the site, accompanied by the head of the Nineveh Reconstruction Committee.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Governor al-Dakhil emphasized the urgency of the rehabilitation work, highlighting the importance of Hammam al-Alil’s thermal baths due to their touristic and therapeutic value. He pointed out that the site is home to numerous mineral springs and wells, which make it one of the most vital tourist attractions in the Nineveh Governorate.

Governor al-Dakhil has tasked the district administration and the local municipality with overseeing the rehabilitation efforts. The goal is to enhance the facilities and services available at Hammam al-Alil, ensuring a suitable environment for visitors and tourists. By capitalizing on the site’s therapeutic and touristic potential, the governor aims to secure a prominent position for Hammam al-Alil on the Nineveh tourism map.
