Vienna: Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, stated that the international community cannot accept the cessation of inspections of Iranian nuclear facilities. This marked his first response following the Iranian parliament’s decision to halt cooperation with the IAEA.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Grossi explained in a press statement that inspections at Iranian nuclear sites are currently suspended. He emphasized that the return of IAEA inspectors to those facilities is his top priority. Grossi highlighted the presence of nuclear technical know-how and industrial capabilities in Iran, noting that this reality cannot be denied.

The Iranian parliament recently voted to oblige the government to suspend cooperation with the IAEA. This move was a protest against what Tehran described as “the agency’s silence regarding the Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.” Despite the suspension, Iran clarified that it does not intend to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Instead, it considers this action a temporary measure until guarantees are provided to protect its nuclear facilities from future attacks.
