Basra: The Gulf Football Federation has officially revealed the date for the draw of the upcoming Gulf Champions League for clubs. Scheduled for August 24th, the draw will set the stage for the third edition of the Gulf Champions League for the 2026-2027 season.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the competition's regulations will see 12 participating teams divided into three groups of four. The structure will allow the top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams across all groups, to advance to the quarterfinals. These will be conducted in a home-and-away format.

This third edition marks a significant milestone as it is expected to host the largest number of participants in the league's history, expanding from 8 to 12 teams. This expansion is a testament to the league's growth and development, aimed at elevating the competitive level and the league's prestige in the region.

The clubs participating in this edition include Al-Ettifaq FC and NEOM FC from Saudi Arabia; Al-Nasr FC and Ajman FC from the United Arab Emirates; Al-Duhail SC and Qatar SC from Qatar; Erbil FC and Al-Zawraa FC from Iraq; Al-Shabab Club from the Sultanate of Oman; Al-Riffa Club from the Kingdom of Bahrain; Kazma Club from the State of Kuwait; and Shaab Hadramout Club from the Republic of Yemen.
